Welcome to DAC Volunteers Institute
Driven by Community Needs:
The focus of these volunteer efforts is
multifaceted, encompassing several key areas:
- Education: Recognizing the transformative power of education, volunteers
often conduct awareness campaigns encouraging school enrollment, provide
tutoring and mentorship programs, and work towards improving the quality
of education available in Deori-speaking areas. They may also facilitate
access to scholarships and educational resources for deserving students.
- Healthcare: Access to adequate healthcare remains a significant concern.
Volunteers often organize health camps, disseminate information about
disease prevention and hygiene practices, and connect community members
with healthcare providers. They might also advocate for improved
healthcare infrastructure in remote areas.
- Economic Empowerment: To address economic vulnerability, volunteers often support
self-help groups, promote traditional crafts and skills, and explore
opportunities for livelihood diversification. They may also facilitate
access to government schemes and financial assistance programs.
- Cultural Preservation: The Deori language, traditions, and cultural practices are
invaluable assets. Volunteers actively work to preserve and promote them
through cultural events, language classes, and documentation of
traditional knowledge.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Volunteers play a crucial role in raising awareness about the
challenges faced by the Deori community and advocating for their rights
and interests at various levels.
